We train in Karate, we practice Karate-Do
Bushi-Katagi Dojo is a Traditional Martial Arts Center specializing in Japanese Shotokan
Karate with some aspects of Okinawan Kobudo. Our focus is on encouraging our students
to develop confidence, self-control and respect for others. To enhance their mental
and emotional faculties, respect and value life, and to develop the courage to overcome
the challenges we face in life every day. The physical aspect of martial arts composed
of self-defense training is the device used to develop these traits. We instill in
our students the knowledge and responsibility that Karate as a physical entity is
only to be used in extreme cases and only if an attack is imminent and cannot be
avoided or evaded; but Karate-Do, the character development aspect is to be practiced
at all times.
